The Company
Capsule Cover provides home insurance specifically tailored to scale-up businesses with a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Unlike traditional home insurance providers, Capsule Cover understands the unique needs of fast-growing companies and their employees, offering coverage that aligns with modern business values. This specialized approach requires documentation that clearly communicates both coverage details and the ESG commitments that differentiate Capsule Cover's offerings.
The Problem
Home insurance for scale-up business employees involves more complex documentation than standard consumer policies. Capsule Cover needs to issue individual policies while maintaining relationships with the companies offering coverage as a benefit. Each policy requires customized documents showing coverage terms, premium details, and the specific ESG commitments built into the coverage.
Additionally, subscription agreements are needed to formalize the relationship between Capsule Cover, the employer, and the employee. These agreements outline payment responsibilities, coverage effective dates, and the terms under which the insurance is provided as an employment benefit.
Managing this documentation manually would create significant friction in the onboarding process. New employees need to get coverage in place quickly, and scale-up companies expect modern, digital experiences. Paper-based processes or email chains full of PDF attachments don't align with the tech-forward nature of Capsule Cover's target market.
The challenge was creating a seamless digital workflow that could generate customized policy documents, route them for electronic signature, and maintain organized records—all while providing the professional, efficient experience that scale-up businesses expect from their partners.
The Solution
Capsule Cover implemented Anvil Workflows combined with Etch E-sign to create a fully digital policy issuance and subscription process.
The workflow begins when a new employee enrolls in coverage. Their information—including property details, coverage selections, and premium amount—flows into Anvil Workflows, which orchestrates the document generation process. The system automatically creates personalized policy documents that include all coverage terms, ESG commitments, and premium details specific to that employee's situation.
For subscription agreements between the employer, employee, and Capsule Cover, Workflows generates the agreement with all parties' information pre-populated. The document clearly outlines who is responsible for premiums, coverage effective dates, and termination conditions.
Once documents are generated, Anvil's Etch E-sign handles the signature collection process. Documents are automatically routed to the appropriate signers—the employee for their policy documents, and all necessary parties for subscription agreements. Etch guides signers through the documents with clear visual indicators showing where signatures are needed, ensuring complete execution without back-and-forth.
All signed documents are automatically stored and organized within Capsule Cover's systems, creating a complete record for each policy. This digital workflow ensures compliance with insurance regulations while providing the smooth, modern experience that scale-up companies and their employees expect.
By implementing Anvil Workflows and Etch E-sign, Capsule Cover created a streamlined policy issuance process that supports their growth in the scale-up insurance market while maintaining the high standards of documentation and compliance required in insurance.
