The Company
Faye is an award-winning travel insurance and assistance company that helps travelers handle trip cancellations, medical emergencies, lost luggage, and other disruptions. Its coverage also extends to modern travel needs like eSIM purchases for international connectivity. That mix reflects the way people travel now, where insurance products need to support both classic travel risks and digital travel essentials.
The Problem
Travel insurance generates a constant flow of documentation. Policy purchases need records. Claims need supporting paperwork. eSIM purchases need receipts. Refunds tied to cancellations, policy changes, or claim resolutions need documentation for both customers and internal accounting.
Handled manually, that work creates drag fast. Support and operations teams spend time filling out templates instead of helping customers. It also creates more room for mistakes in dates, amounts, and customer details, which can lead to confusion, follow-up questions, and avoidable back-office work.
Speed is part of the problem too. Customers expect receipts and transaction records as soon as something happens. A manual process adds delay to what should feel immediate in a digital-first travel experience.
Faye needed a way to generate accurate transactional documents automatically, as part of the underlying workflow, without adding manual work for the team.
The Solution
Faye implemented Anvil to automate the creation of eSIM purchase receipts, refund receipts, and other transaction documents.
When a customer purchases an eSIM, transaction data such as the customer name, product, purchase date, and amount flows from Faye’s system into Anvil. Using the PDF Filling API, Faye can populate receipt templates automatically and return completed documents right away.
The same pattern applies to refunds. When a refund is processed, Anvil generates a receipt with the relevant customer information, original transaction details, refund amount, refund date, and reason. That gives customers immediate documentation while keeping internal records complete and consistent. This solution saves the Faye team countless hours of manual work.
Because the process is automated, each receipt follows the same format and uses the right data in the right place. That consistency reduces manual effort and lowers the risk of preventable errors across high-volume transaction flows.
The Results
Faye turned document generation into part of the transaction itself instead of a separate manual task. Receipts for eSIM purchases and refunds can be created as soon as the underlying event occurs, which improves the customer experience and reduces operational overhead. “This has saved our team both from having to develop the underlying service and the ongoing maintenance,” said Daniel Green, Co-founder & CTO of Faye.
The team also gets a more reliable documentation process. Standardized outputs are easier to manage internally, easier to reconcile, and less dependent on staff time. For a travel insurance company handling ongoing transactional activity, that is a cleaner way to scale, especially as they add new products over time.
Teams building similar systems can extend the same approach with Anvil’s workflow automation, developer integrations, Document AI, and API documentation.
By automating transactional documentation with Anvil, Faye made receipt generation immediate, accurate, and scalable while freeing internal teams to spend less time on paperwork and more time supporting travelers.
