Webform editor

Add a field to a webform

There are two types of input fields that can be added to a webform: an input field from PDF or an unconnected input field. Add input fields from PDF to insert a new webform field that is automatically connected to an existing field on the PDF. This means that the information collected by this field will populate the corresponding PDF field, making it a great option if you already have a PDF template you are converting to a Workflow.

If you need to collect information on the webform that does not appear on the resulting PDF, add an unconnected input field. With this option you can add webform logic or add a signer without affecting your PDF output. If you change your mind, you can always connect it to a PDF field later.

2

On the webform, navigate to where you would like to add an additional field.

On any webform, hover between two fields and click the + circle icon that appears.

From here you can change the type of the webform field and its labels to collect the desired information.

Note

An unconnected field is not automatically connected to a field on the PDF. This means that you can collect information on the webform that does not appear on the resulting PDF. This is a great option if you would like to add webform logic (in which you can ask a question whose answer will show or hide future fields), or add a signer (in which an email is required for signature notifications).

If you would like your new field to populate on the final PDF, be sure to connect it to a PDF field or add an input field from an existing PDF field (below).

4

Select a PDF field.

Select which existing PDF field you would like to fill with your new field.

5

Click 'Add input field'.

Click add input field and you will be taken to your new webform field with the webform field editor panel open on the left. The field type will automatically match the field type of the selected PDF field.

Note

Since the new input field was added from PDF, it is already connected to the chosen PDF field and will fill the resulting PDF. If you would not like your new field to appear on the final PDF, you can disconnect it from the field editor panel.
