Save a document template draft

Whether creating a document template for the first time or making updates to one that has already been published, you can save a draft version until you are ready to make the changes live.

New Workflow:

From the Document Templates dashboard, click Create template.

Upload or select your document.

A draft is created automatically.

A draft has been created and will save automatically as you make changes. At any point in the editing process you may exit the Workflow editor by clicking Save & exit or by navigating to another page.

Continue editing the new template draft.

Your document template will stay in draft mode until you hit Publish. You will not be able to use this template in a Workflow, Etch packet, or with API until you publish the document template.

Existing Workflow:

Navigate to the document template you would like to edit. Click the gear settings menu in the upper right corner and select Edit template from the dropdown.

Edit your document template.

As soon as an edit has been made, a new draft is created and will save automatically as you work. At any point in the editing process you may exit the template editor by clicking Save & exit or by navigating to another page.

Continue editing the new template draft.

Your template changes will stay in draft mode until you hit Publish. You will not be able to use this template version in a Workflow, Etch packet, or with API until you publish the document template.
